It’s been a while since we changed out our label photos. We had picked a few Winter themed photos back in January to match our winter decor. With the 70F days and outdoor customer photos we’ve had recently, we decided it was time to start celebrating Spring! As usual, these lucky dogs will get a Nearly Free* One Pounder as a thanks for letting us feature them on our retail store packages and online store photo options. We’ve also switched from using a glossy finish label to a cool matte finish. We think it matches the craft paper bags better. Let us know what YOU think!

*Nearly Free is because our online payment processor won’t let us charge $0.00 for an item. So we charge 1¢ + shipping.

The Baker’s Dog is proud to announce we will be hosting a pet portrait day on June 13th. The sitting fee is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. The fee secures a 30 minute session for one dog. A $5 fee will be added for each additional dog sitting in. Prints are sold separately by Melissa McDaniel Photography. A portion of the sitting fees will be donated to the Grand Strand Humane Society.

Melissa McDaniel is traveling the country raising awareness for animal shelters and rescues. She has identified and partnered up with a select few businesses to host pet portrait days on her journey. You can see a portfolio of her work here. This is a one day only event with limited spots. Please contact us to book your appointment.

Remember our DoggedDogdom.com giveaway? Well the winners have recently been announced and the prize packages went out a couple of days ago. Even though Leigh of GoFetchGifts.com and Anne-Marie Gates entered the contest, we think the dogs Mr. Blue and Dutchess were the real winners!

Both winners got their prize packages today and sent us photos along with notes of thanks. GoFetchGifts.com even took the time put a nice little write up on their blog! Though we never expect anything in return for our prize offerings, we are incredibly flattered when people take time from their busy schedules to let us know they love our products. Getting the opportunity to put our fresh baked treats and custom photo packaging into new customers hands is exactly why we sponsor these contests.

Awwwww... the latest litter from Woodcrest Kennel!

Our friends over at Dogged Dogdom are having a contest to “theme” their new litter of puppies. Winners will get free One Pounders and Half Pounders with a custom photo printed on the package. More details are at DoggedDogdom.com

We have always known contest sponsorships were going to be a part of our online presence. It’s a great way to support other sites that put a lot of hard work into building an audience and to get our products into people’s hands. With our custom photo packaging and the proliferation of puppy and kitty photos online, sponsoring photo contests just seems like a no-brainer. If you recall, we sponsored the January DailyPuppy.com Photo Contest. Now the results are in!

We contacted the winners for their shipping information and flavor preferences. As soon as they responded we sent out the following prizes…

3rd Place Kahlua received a Half Pounder Cheese & Apple along with other goodies (including some kitty treats!)

We are pleased to say that this month’s Daily Puppy Photo contest,  based on the total number of entries, was the most successful contest they’ve had to date. Whether our sponsorship and promotion had anything to do with it remains to be seen. We’ll most likely be sponsoring the Daily Puppy contest again along with some other giveaway promotions. Well alright, I say it half jokingly… but I do think it’s true. I don’t think any other pet bakery can claim to have over 10 years pet bakery experience and have a professional level software developer and graphic designer on staff. We put a lot of time in developing our website and custom photo packaging process to make everything as simple and fun to use as possible. Plus, I think it’s cool to say we’re unique to the WORLD (yes, all caps is necessary).  Heck, even Steve Jobs hangs out with us.

When you upload a photo to be printed on a label, we give you the choice of letting The Baker’s Dog use your photo or not. If we choose to use your photo, it will be used on our retail packaged treats and displays. It may also become a photo that’s available for our online customers to use. We had quite a few Christmas themed photos and decided to rotate some of them out.

We had a customer that likes our wheat and corn free biscuits, but was bummed out that she couldn’t get any fun dipped treats for her allergic doggy. I invented the Nom-Nom Sandwich and after some successful taste tests, it’s now available on our online store and retail shop! We’ve also slashed more prices in our Clearance Section.
